Ruth A. Millar
I was born on an Army base in Heidelberg, Germany. I moved to the United States when I was six months old, so I do not remember anything about what I hear is a beautiful section of the world. I grew up in a very strict military household, but for most of my life, my father was a truck driver. Growing up with a truck driver father, I was able to at least ride through 48 of the 50 states. Different cultures and climates taught me a lot about how different people live and raise their families. My family never lived anywhere longer than two years until we moved to the Conway / Myrtle Beach area in 1996. I witnessed a lot from the east coast to the west coast, both north and south.
The first job I was given money for was babysitting. Since the age of 11, I was paying rent, buying my own clothes and school supplies, and giving my parents an allowance. Since then, with an open mind, I have done a little bit of everything. During high school I started taking care of the elders in my neighborhood and throughout the rest of my high school and through college, I worked in a nursing home. After 12 years in the nursing field, I was given the opportunity to work in the music industry. With previous work experience in childcare, elder care, roofing, cashiering, plumbing, sheet rock, masonry, electricity, flooring, and painting, just to name a few, I took on the new experience with an eagerness to learn something new. Working with the music company, I used all my skills from previous jobs.
My boss and I renovated two buildings and turned them into beautiful and successful studios. We have been working together for 11 years now and I still enjoy every day! Getting the chance to work in a law firm was never something I ever thought was possible, but Will Parker and his staff took me in, taught me all the skills needed for this line of work, and they are watching me grow as I learn more each day. I enjoy life with my dog and spending time with my precious family and friends as much as possible. I am always willing and ready to learn new things.
