I founded Will Parker Law on three principles: maintaining professionalism; being directly accessible to my clients and obtaining results. I make it a priority to live up to these principles, in an effort to exceed my clients' expectations.
Professionalism begins well before the courtroom. It begins with case preparation, strategy, being appropriately staffed and extends to working each client's file quickly and diligently with the result always in mind.
Accessibility may be the most important of the three principles. Survey after survey has demonstrated the number one complaint clients have about their attorney is they never get to speak to them or they do not return phone calls. I take great pride in remaining directly accessible to my clients. My cell number is (843) 999-2907 and my clients' can always reach me through call or text through the entirety of their case and beyond. I believe this is one of the reasons the majority of my business are repeat clients or referrals. I certainly take a quality over quantity approach. I have heard many horror stories from clients about some of the larger firms, where they have felt they were merely a number. That will never be the case at Will Parker Law.
Results are of utmost importance as the ultimate result is the reason clients retain an attorney in the first place. I have proven I can obtain results, as I have recovered millions of dollars for clients over my 11 years. I take the approach that it is best to prepare each case as if it will end up in a courtroom. This is a key to obtaining the compensation accident victims deserve and the justice those charged with a crime deserve.

I consider it a privilege that so many clients have trusted me in their times of crisis and vulnerability. I offer a free consultation and all injury cases are done on a contingency basis, which means there is no legal fee charged unless there is a recovery for you. Car AccidentsTourist destinations such as Myrtle Beach are literally an accident waiting to happen. The combination of tourists who are unfamiliar with the roads, the amount of bars leading to alcohol consumption and heavy traffic creates a highly dangerous place to drive. In addition, despite efforts to legislate safety measures, our roads are more dangerous. This is specifically due to distracted drivers, often stemming from texting and driving.
Once in an accident, the victim often feels like a victim again, as insurance companies routinely delay and even deny legitimate claims. Even when claims are accepted, insurance companies often pressure the injured party to settle quickly and for far less than the claim is worth. I have the experience and track record to take on the insurance companies to ensure you receive the justice and compensation you are entitled if you are the victim of another driver's negligence.
The Grand Strand, including areas such as Murrells Inlet and Atlantic Beach, host numerous bike rallies each year, bringing tens of thousands of motorcyclists to the area. The Strand offers open roads, beach scenery, as well as dozens of bars and restaurants tailored to and welcoming to motorcyclists. With the number of motorcyclists in the Myrtle Beach area, it is no surprise there are also a great deal of motorcycle accidents. Unfortunately, accidents involving a vehicle and a motorcycle generally produce far worse injuries. Additionally, there is no helmet law in South Carolina although it is wise to wear one and is often life-saving. Over my 11 years as a motorcycle accident attorney in the Myrtle Beach area, I have handled dozens of motorcycle accident claims including several involving the loss of life. Will Parker Law offers a free consultation on all personal injury cases and will happily come to you at the hospital, your home or hotel room.
MopedsMuch like motorcycle, mopeds are a common sight in Myrtle Beach. Mopeds offer an economic advantage to motor vehicles as the purchase price is significantly lower and the gas mileage is significantly better, often exceeding 100 miler per gallon. In addition to purchasing a moped, Myrtle Beach offers rental shops that lease mopeds to tourists, sometimes even by the hour.
Moped Laws in South CarolinaFrom a legal standpoint, there are significant differences between motorcycles and mopeds. To be classified as a moped, there is an engine size limit and a two brake horsepower limit. Whether a moped license is required depends on whether the rider has a driver's and the rider's age. There is currently no registration requirement and insurance is not required to operate a moped in South Carolina. Helmets are not required for moped riders, as mopeds are not subject to South Carolina's motorcycle helmet laws. However, on November 1, 2018, moped laws will change, requiring moped registration and requiring riders under the age of 21 to wear a helmet.
Dangers of Operating a MopedMopeds, as defined by South Carolina law, can not exceed 30 miles per hour. From a safety perspective, mopeds should not be operated on roads with a higher speed limit. Practically, this is nearly impossible, as most of the roads in Horry County have a speed limit over 30 miles per hour. This, in combination with the lack of a helmet law, can lead to accidents with serious injuries or death.
As mopeds are not constructed with the same required safety measures as a motor vehicle, injuries are often more severe in moped accidents and the likelihood of death is significantly higher. For example, in 2015 there were 45 deaths in 819 reported moped accidents. Statistically, this means 5% of moped accidents resulted in an accident. In the same year, only 2% of motor vehicle accidents only resulted in a fatality, meaning moped accidents were more than twice as likely to result in a fatality.
I have personally handled numerous, serious moped cases, including several involving the loss of life. If you were injured on a moped or have a family member who died as the result of a moped accident, contact Will Parker Law today at (843) 357-4111 or call or text me directly on cell at (843) 999-2907 to set up a consultation. For your convenience, I offer home or hospital visits at no cost to you.
Bicycle AccidentsBicyclists are a frequent sight on the Grand Strand, particularly in the summer time. Bicycles offer a great alternative to vehicles as well as a great way to exercise and take in some of the amazing views the Myrtle Beach area has to offer. Bikes also serve as a great alternative for foreign students and visitors who come to Myrtle Beach for summer employment. Bikes are also available for rent at locations all across the beach.
Unfortunately, collisions between a bicycle and a vehicle can result in disastrous consequences for the bicyclist. There are many laws designed to protect cyclists, but, unfortunately, many drivers either do not fully understand the laws. Even worse, many drivers exceed the speed limit or fall prey to the many distractions daily life has to offer, such as texting or otherwise using cell phones. What could be a minor collision between two vehicles could lead to the loss of life when a bicycle is involved.
As with any injury case, the most critical determination in a bicycle case is which party is at fault. Research across the country shows the vehicle is generally more likely to be at fault in motor vehicle accidents involving a bicycle. Often times the initial determination on the scene can be incorrect. This is due to the fact that in many cases, either no one witnesses the accident or no one stays around to assist the officer. This is one of the many reasons accident victims may need to consult with an attorney. During my eleven years as a Myrtle Beach personal injury attorney, I have successfully represented many bicycle accident victims. Call Will Parker Law today at (843) 357-4111 to arrange a consultation at my office or at the hospital, home or hotel room.
Work InjuriesAn injury on the job can be devastating for men and women who diligently work to support their families. These injuries are often the result of dangerous work conditions and financial decisions that place company profits over employee safety. It is common for workers to be treated unfairly after an accident. Employers often attempt to avoid filing a workers' compensation claim and even sometimes dissuade employees from seeking medical treatment.
Even if a claim is filed, employees many times have a difficult time dealing with the insurance company, including not being able to get medical appointments authorized or their weekly checks started. Insurance companies often deny testing such as MRI's and CT Scans in a strategic attempt to avoid having the extent of an employee's injury known. Also, the more costly the medical treatment or procedure, the more likely an insurance carrier will look for ways to deny it.
As a Myrtle Beach workers' compensation attorney, I have handled hundreds of workers' compensation cases over the last 11 years. During the course of these claims, I have fought for approval of denied claims, surgical procedures and second opinions. I have tried cases and recovered millions of dollars through settlements and Orders of the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission. Call Will Parker Law today for a free case evaluation and, remember, there is no fee until a recovery is made for you.
